  21. I am linking via null modem cable a Win98 laptop to Redhat Linux 6.0
  22. laptap. File transfers work, but only after a fashion and with
  23. considerable delay. I seek help to remedy this.

  25. Every 10-20 packets there is an "input overrun" error displayed, a pause
  26. of 5-10 seconds, then resumed transfer.

  28. The windows end is running kermit-for-DOS (no, I haven't yet ordered
  29. Kermit-for-9*). The unix end is running C-kermit on line /dev/ttyS0.
  30. Line parameters are xon/xoff, 8-none-1. The overruns occur at all speed
  31. between 9600 and 115,200 but seem to take longer to recover at lower
  32. speeds.

  34. I was a frequent kermit user in a previous life, but am new to unix. Is
  35. there something I should be trying to tweak re packet or window sizes?
  36. flow control?
